Proficiency in English and GRE General test

English Proficiency test

The language requirements for the CEMACUBE programme as well as the involved universities include one of the following test results:

  1. IELTS (Academic) 6.5 – no less than 6.0 on each section

  2. TOEFL iBT (internet-based test) 95 – no less than 21 on each section

  3. TOEFL CBT (computer-based test) 237 – no less than 21 on each section

  4. Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English - CAE (Certificate of Advanced English)

Note that a copy of a valid authentic test certificate must be produced (after 2 years the most tests are no longer valid so please check!).

There is no need to send the scores to the University, just add a copy of your test results to your Application package!

=> If your official test results are not available before the application deadline, you need to add proof that you have applied for a test to your Application package. E.g. proof of payment for the course, confirmation email of the Test Centre or a screen shot of the unofficial online results with your application package. This will do till you have the official results on paper, however we do need any test results before 15 July otherwise you can not be enrolled at the university! Note that local CEMACUBE university admission rules regarding the English proficiency test results are very strict!

Exceptions: Only two groups of students do not need to prove proficiency in English:

  1. Applicants that are a native English speaker and completed secondary education in any one of the following countries: Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia

  2. Applicants that have completed their bachelor education in any one of the following countries: Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia

PLEASE NOTE:

All students have to prove their proficiency in English if they do not meet either of the two requirements stated above.

Without valid test results you will not be allowed to start the CEMACUBE programme in September!

If your medium of instruction was English: In spite of the fact that the medium of instruction was English, we do require you to send proof of proficiency in English by means of sending us a test score report. We understand this may seem strange to you, but our experience tells us that English being the medium of instruction during a student’s previous education very often doesn’t guarantee a sufficient command of the English language. Besides that, it is not just for the purpose of the programme we are strict with the English test, but the Admission Office of the partner universities within the programme will also demand a proficiency test otherwise they are simply not allowed to register you.

However, if your university can provide you with a letter (signed, stamped and on official university paper) that states that the instruction and examination language of your degree was in English, we can accept that as proof of English Proficiency for the Application part of our programme (so only for the programme!).  BUT still have to do one of the above mentioned tests with good result to be able to take part in the programme (Local CEMACUBE University admission requirments!).

Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test

CEMACUBE applicants have to successfully passed the GRE General test with 160 points for the Quantitative reasoning section.

The GRE General test has 3 sections:

  • Verbal reasoning
  • Quantitative reasoning
  • Analytical writing

The test results may not be older than 5 years. As for the language test, there is no need to send the test scores to the university, just add them to your Application package.

=> If your test results are not available before the Application deadline, you need to add proof to your Application package that you have applied for the test. The test results needs to be emailed to CEMACUBE before 15 July.

NOTE: If you are selected for the programme but have no valid test results, you cannot start the CEMACUBE programme in September!
